Great British Gunmakers: The Mantons 1788-1878. Published by Historical Firearms, Norwich, 1993,1st Edition, 4to., 144 pages. Finely illustrated in b/w and colour from photographs. As New. The Mantons gunmakers was first published in 1967 with a supplement in 1978. Since then a substantial number of Manton arms unrecorded in either book has been brought to the attention of the author and also a scrapbook put together by Joseph Manton’s staff. In this volume the author records some amendments from the first 2 volumes and those guns traced since 1978 together with the contents of the scrapbook. Sadly the co author Keith Neal died before publication.
