Parker Hale .451 Whitworth Rifle. Manufactured by Parker Hale. Uses Sir Joseph Whitworths patented hexagonal rifling which takes tightly fitting hexagonal bullets. Has a 91.4cm (36inch) blued steel barrel, solid brass furniture, colour case hardened lock and hammer and a walnut stock.

This rifle is in generally good condition with a good bore. A rare opportunity to have a much sought after Whitworth rifle.

Sir Joseph Whitworth, 1st Baronet Bt FRS FRSA was an English engineer, entrepreneur, inventor and philanthropist. In 1841, he devised the British Standard Whitworth system, which created an accepted standard for screw threads.
